Founded in 1814, Hermon has become a gem in the heart of Maine providing its residents with a quiet country lifestyle with excellent recreational opportunities, while providing all of the necessary services and more to its residents. With a population of 6,000 and growing, Hermon has several business parks that provide many jobs for its residents and surrounding communities.

The Town Council meets the first and third Thursday of each month and we welcome your participation. The Town Council Rules are attached to help explain the format of each meeting and answer your questions about Town Government. We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting!

The Hermon Town Charter states: ” Councilpersons shall be at least 21 years of age, shall be registered voters of the Town and shall reside in the Town during their term of office. After serving three full consecutive terms as a Councilperson, an individual must wait one year before serving on the Council again.”
